Mugen Ittōryū
Infinite One Sword Style
Breakdown and History:
In the early years of the Mist Village, a man existed by the name of Tatsuko Mifune. Born with the Sharingan, he was able to pick up on fighting styles exceedingly quickly, but hungered for one that fit his abilities, one single fighting style to call his own. As he already knew and used Kenjutsu; a sword based style was obviously in the cards, however, instead of choosing to focus on the use of one good sword, he based his fighting style around the use of many lesser quality tatchi. However, very few of the village's elite even attempted to learn the style as it was viewed as a 'poormans' style.
To compensate for the use of lesser quality, more brittle Tatchi, Mifune developed a style of striking at extremely high speeds using large numbers of Tatchi scattered about the arena. Because of the large number of swords that are used, and the fact that they were often used one at a time, albeit at such a high speed that it seemed that one had multiple swords in hand at a time, Mifune called the style "Mugen Ittōryū", or "Infinite One Sword Style."
As he grew stronger, and developed his style further, Mifune attracted a decent number of students all wishing to learn his style. However, because it was so different from what most other sword wielders were used to, using many throwaway swords as opposed to the one good one most were used to, many failed to get a proper grasp of the teachings. And so, they left the humble little Dojo he had set up in the village. Only one remained, and he was stricken with an illness, the exact details of which have been lost, about a year after he joined the dojo.
While news of this did not tarnish the reputation of his dojo much, as there was little to tarnish, very few people came to his dojo after that. And of the few that did, only two mastered the style, reaching the rank of 'Composer' and leaving to establish dojos of their own. Each of those two Composers took on a number of protege, but only two from each Sensei actually reached the level of Conductor. Those four Conductors traveled to Mist village and acquired the blessing of Mifune, becoming Composers. They then set out and established Dojos of their own.
As there are very few, if any, practitioners of Mugen Ittoryu, there is no set way that one acts or dresses. One thing will make them stand out from the masses, however, that is the pack of swords they always have slung over their shoulder or attached to their hips to allow them to use their style. The style itself can be described as a relentless assault by a high-speed maniac, it specializes in unleashing attack after attack on the opponent in order to force him to withdraw or perish. There are no rituals or festivals within the style, only a constant focus on defeating the enemy. Even most of their defensive technique can be used for offensive purposes.
Training
There really is no basic training that is absolutely required other than basic spacial awareness trainings that most people undertake; often without even knowing it. One may also develop their skill in the style by increasing both their movement and striking speed, as well as simply practicing the techniques in the style. There is one other training that one in the style may undertake, though it is optional.
