Nationality:Land of Thunder
Personal Alignment:neutral good

Specials:Tatsuko(BL) Hebinoyo(BL)
Sub-Specials:Anbu (Ram{future})/Animal Companions
Appearance:
Saru is an unusual looking guy, with a feminized face and somewhat triangular eyes; shoulder length hair that naturally separates into triangular 'spike' locks, and often sports a 'knowing' smile. Both of his ears are of average size with small, unpierced lobes that are connected to the sides of his head. That does not, however, indicate that his ears are unpierced; as even though the lobes are unpierced, the cartilage at the top of the ears are pierced with ring-shaped silver piercings. And he does have a small tattoo on the center of his brow in the shape of a flower with two triangular petals in the rough shape of a heart, the bottom of the figure round. The tattoo is about an inch tall and half as wide. It is often hidden by a large lock of hair that partially hides his left eye without blocking its view.
Saru's skeletal structure is distinctly(ok, completely) feminine, caused by his female hormone balances. Even his breasts are distinctly feminine, albeit A cups. The right half or so of his body, as well as some of his left breast is covered in an incomplete full body tattoo, done almost entirely in black ink, though the designs on his chest area have elements done in a traditional red ink, as is the carp on his right back. The reason why there is so little color is that the entire tattoo is done by hand in traditional inks, and the ingredients that make up the red ink are toxic in larger doses, so he has to be careful how much red is used. As for the design on his chest(as well as the designs on his solar plexus, throat, belly, and the base of the spine), they will be detailed following.
The throat has a small round flower about the size of a quarter directly were his Adam's apple should be; the flower has a small center with a pentacle in it and sixteen heart-shaped petals on it. His left breast has a red tiger design on it, with the figure twisted back towards the center of the chest as if it were climbing an invisible pile of rocks or mountain where it turned around to continue climbing upwards. The tiger's right paw(the one away from the viewer) raised up as if it were in the middle of a step, it's mouth agape and chest puffed as if it were about to roar. His right breast features a five-toed Asian lung dragon(the serpentine kind you see most commonly in Asian artworks, though this particular one has a longer face than normal, like Haku from Spirited Away), though unlike the tiger is is not entirely red and black, but is instead mostly black with the mane red and the pearl in it's left hand white/uncolored/skin colored, the mouth is open on the dragon just like on the tiger. In the center of his chest is a twelve petaled chrysanthemum which was worked into the traditional 'X' scar which he was given when he was officially considered a 'man'.
Saru bears upon his solar plexus the image of two Sakura flowers, one overlapping the other, creating the image of a flower that appears to have ten petals. Holding the two flowers in his two hands is Bishamonten, the Japanese Buddhist god of war and warriors. Behind Bishamonten is a three tiered Pagoda with the twelve petaled chrysanthemum just above it's tip, and on his lap is a traditional Japanese Spear, with the spear head pointing to the right. On his belly, Saru has a lotus flower with six petals, however, it may be added on to later on. And at the base of the spine, the only notable piece found entirely on his back, is a whirlpool with four Japanese maple leaves in it.
Aside from all that, Saru has soft, black hair of shoulder length, with crystal-blue eyes that some say words cannot describe. He stands 5'8, and with his skeletal-muscular structure, only weighs about 122 lbs. His feet are rather small, and his voice is typically high and light, which helps him masquerade as a female rather well. This confuses his gender identity though, which is compounded by the fact that he has the genitalia of both genders.
As for the clothing, Saru tends to wear whatever fits the situation best. Around the house, he tends to wear a simple white Kikogi with black non-split(or skirt-like) Hakama. When he goes out for a short trip, or into the yard, he'll put on a pair of Tatami Zori. However, when he goes out on missions and such, he'll more likely dress in a white Nagajuban under a black Kimono with rather tight fitting pair of black non-split Hakama under the Kimono.
Personality:
Nobody's going to give you a map, you've got to walk your own path. --Michiyo, a childhood friend of Saru's, the day before she left his life.
Saruwatari Kazunari, or Saru for short, is the type of person who consciously tries to live his 'own life'. He doesn't wait around for good fortune to fall into his lap or for someone else to tell him what to do, he simply does what he wants to. This doesn't mean that he is impulsive, nor overly willful, he simply does what he wants to do, and he does it at his own pace. This has gotten him in trouble with his teachers and his father at times, but nothing serious.
"Whatever happens from now on, I want you to stand firm and face your destiny without fear but with courage." --The final words of Masahiro, Saru's Ojii-san Taking his grandfather's last words to heart, Saru has chosen to face whatever his life throws at him head on, to stand firm and to never shy away from a challenge. Despite his willfulness however, Saru isn't the type to stand against an unstoppable force if he sees the alternative as acceptable, nor will he abide his standing by if the alternative in unacceptable.
However, while Saru was claimed as a son by his father, he is actually a futanari, and while he was raised as a male, he did learn several arts commonly associated with the fairer gender with the assistance of his Obaa-san, such as Shamisen and Flower Arrangement. He's also been known to masquerade as a female(often a geisha) to obtain information, much to his father's chagrin.
But despite all his posturing and his outward mannerisms, Saru is still just a kid at heart. He's shy, and still a bit innocent, he can take a bit to pick up on 'subtle' hints, and likes to build 'Zoids' models. This is the part of himself that he guards the closest, not allowing anyone to see. And while he doesn't fullly realize it himself, when he's around someone he likes, he tends to let the nicer, more cheery Saru reign.
The other Personality.
Still hidden deep within the recesses of his mind is another personality, perhaps it would have been his sisters, perhaps its a coping mechanism intended for Saru's childhood, perhaps it's something, or someone, else entirely. What is known is that this other personality has name itself 'Kagami' meaning mirror. While she tends to be rather passive, cultured, and 'poised', Kagami can fly into a rage at seemingly any moment. Within Saru's Mind and Dreamscapes, Kagami appears as a young girl with jet black hair down to her calves and dark brown eyes. Her hair pulled back under a black lace bonnet with a white lace trim. She wears a white frilled and ruffled blouse with a simple black bell-shaped skirt along with a pair of white over-knee socks and black 'Mary Jane' shoes, polished to a fine reflective shine. All in all, she looks much like a doll.

Strengths:(I absolutely hate these sections, and their inverse, the weaknesses sections.) Saru best strength, perhaps, is his 'aura', the emanating emotions he exudes. All around him, people often feel at least a little calmer than normal, because of this abnormal ability of his, though it isn't strong enough to actually change the course of a battle. And while he himself isn't well suited to battle, his other personality, Kagami, is actually much better suited to combat than Saru is, though she lacks any well developed interpersonal skills that last more than a few moments or one act of bad luck.
Weaknesses:(I absolutely hate these sections, and their inverse, the Strengths sections.) Just as Saru's peaceful aura is perhaps his greatest strength, it can also be his greatest weakness, as he isn't well suited to combat. Because he isn't very skilled at combat, Kagami tends to do all the fighting. Oh yes, and another weakness it that he's more than a little crazy, having more than just a voice in his head, but instead having a full person and a full multi-tailed beast in their, along side himself. He will often comment to his 'headmates' that it's getting/is quite cramped in there.
History:The story of our young Hero(ine?) begins not with his birth, but rather with that of his father, one Saruwatari Kisuke. Kisuke was born 28 years ago in a land far to the west of the Lands of Fire, Earth, and Wind. Born as the 2nd son of the 2nd mistress of the Emperor of that land.(he was very busy) Despite being the son of that land's royalty, Kisuke was denied an overtly privileged upbringing. While he was only the 2nd son of his mother, he was 15th in line for the throne, and as such received only a modest education in comparison with his elder siblings. In most subjects, his grades were only average, but in a few, his grades were outstanding and even put his elder siblings to shame.
When he reached adolescence, he was for all intensive purposes, a normal boy and, despite only being 14, began to court the daughter of a visiting dignitary. While you may be wishing for the raunchy details, lets suffice it to say that it did not end well; think somewhere along the lines of Romeo and Juliet, even though both survived, they were unable to see each other ever again. Afterward things began to settle down again for a while. But as Kisuke approached his 18th birthday, he caught wind of a plan his father had dreamed up that would likely cause a major revolt. When Kisuke marched into the throne room and demanded his father change his mind, the Emperor only laughed. Infuriated, Kisuke then challenged his father for control of the Empire. This was quite unusual, but quite legal. However, Kisuke lost. And while his father could not exile, or disown Kisuke, nor have him executed, for fear of the repercussions, he did the next best thing. He named Kisuke the Ambassador to the lands to the East and sent him away.
And so, taking some of the slaves from his household with him and leaving the others to take care of his mother, Kisuke set out for the lands to the East. Upon his reaching the Land of Thunder with a letter from his father, he and his court were escorted to Kumogakure, where they were given a rather large home, done in the traditional architecture of the Land of Thunder. And before you get all hoity-toity about the Slaves, they are viewed under the law much like beasts of burden; they do have some rights, however they still must do just about whatever their master says. Anyhow, I'm getting off track. It was shortly after then when Kisuke met Saru's mother, one Sakurai Yukiko.
Well, after the two of them met, it was only a short courtship before the two of them were wed. However, ever since Kisuke had left his homeland, one of the men that were traveling with him had been slowly poisoning him under the orders of their Emperor. When Kisuke took ill shortly after he wed Yukiko, she was understandably suspicious. And when she found out that it was one of Kisuke's most trusted friends, she had no choice but to act and save her beloved. Instead of taking the matter to her husband, she instead played the role of a Kunoichi well and seduced the man before killing him. She then told Kisuke that the man had gone back home. But the damage had been done. The man had used Lead Acitate, a sweet tasting compound that contains the heavy metal lead, as it's name would suggest. And while Kisuke had survived the poisoning attempt and would recover, he had been rendered effectively sterile.
But Kisuke didn't want to die without an heir, half because he truly wanted an heir, and subconsciously because he thought that it would really tick off his father. And so he actually used the knowledge he had learned in his Bio-sci class all those years ago and took two eggs from his wife's ovaries(with her permission of course), and used his land's particular brand of Jutsu to alter their genetic coding, mixing it with his own. He then implanted the two eggs into his wife and used another jutsu to artificially induce the gestation process. About the end of the second trimester/the beginning of the third, one of the two embryo died prematurely, and the remaining one, who would go on to be Saruwatari Kazunari, absorbed what would have been his twin sister into his still developing body.
About eight or nine months later, Saru was born a healthy, bouncing baby boy, and Saru's parents became the proud parents of a load of trouble. For the most part Saru was a normal child, he attended his village's Ninja Academy like any other child, he did his homework, etc. But something about him was different. He was born with the genitalia of both gender sets. Even though he was claimed as a son by his father, as even though he was born without (external) testicles, the doctors simply assumed that he was a male based upon what was visible. The other gender's 'parts' didn't appear until about the fourth or fifth year of his, but that's beside the point.
Through out his entire school life, Saru only made one friend, Sakurai Michiyo(who was also a Futanari, though Saru never realized it). And even though they got along fabulously, when they were apart, Saru was often the target of taunts and bullying by his classmates. When they were together, the bullies were too scared to do anything. And all was well until the day the two of them graduated, when Saru asked Michiyo what she thought he should do next, she simply left, saying "Nobody's going to give you a map, you've got to walk your own path." Though Saru chased after her and later even went to her house, he never saw her again, her house empty. Shortly after then his Ojii-san fell ill.
Masahiro then labored under the pain of his illness for the next two years. On the day he died, he entrusted his final words to his grandson Saru: "Whatever happens from now on I want you to stand tall and face your destiny without fear but with courage." Unable to properly cope with everything that was happening around him, Saru obtained permission from his Kage and left the village for a personal journey. He left the Village where he was born and raised and set out for the wide open world. He set out on a journey that would last him for two years. Two long years filled with hardship and strife. Two long years which will now be compressed to the size of a paragraph or two.
Shortly after he left, Saru's provisions ran short, and as he was trying to live with as few complications as possible, he began to scavenge for wild berries and other edibles when he happened upon a chance encounter with a pair of recently orphaned Grey/Hokkaido wolf hybrids; one white as the freshly fallen show, the other as black as the space between the stars on a clear winter's night. So he chose to take the two of them in and traveled with them from that day forth. He gave them the names of two very important figures in Japanese Mythology. He chose to name the white one Amaterasu and the black one Tsukuyomi.
It was with the constant companionship of those two pups that Saru spend the next two years of his life, living his life just day by day, he felt more alive then than at any time previous. And that was how Saru spend those two years of his out in the wild. After journeying around the continental world on his own for two years with Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu his only companions, Saru returned to the village of his birth a changed person. Before he left he was an impulsive, reclusive boy in the early onsets of clinical depression. But as he stepped though that gate once again Saru had become and adult. He had grown through his travels and had become a wholly new person.
