Roleplay, Battle, Training, Ranking Sysem Welcome to Hidden Villages RP and the world of Roleplaying in general. Whether your trying to interact with other fans of Naruto, gain friendships in and out of character, show-off your writing ability, or just to have fun creating fun characters and exciting situations, you can let your imagination loose and here's where you'll learn how. These are a set of general guidelines that you can find on most roleplaying sites, just remember to read any rules and guidelines before exploring. Taking the time to read this is a big step! You are going to take a little trip into the world of RP, and hopefully you'll remember to have fun along the way. The guidelines and general parameters of HVRP are as follows: ROLE-PLAYING BASICSA role-playing game (RPG or RP for short) is a game in which the participants assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, they may improvise freely; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the games. HVRP is about collaborative story-telling...stepping into the shoes of a character that YOU create and then use to interact with other players. As such, it should be an enjoyable experience that isn't taken too seriously and can be free of real-world repurcussions.
~Creating Characters~
Create your character. For different sites, the requirements will vary. However, there are some basic information on character creation:
Make your character's bio detailed! If there is anything that can be elaborated on, do it!Make your character believable. Nobody likes a perfect character or a Mary Sue or Gary Stu. Make your character human, and you will have so much more fun, however, give them unique quirks so that they are interesting. Most Character Sheets require a history. Here, you need to explain, explain, explain. Include everything you can think of, don't skip things to save time. Include descriptions of parents, places where character grew up etc.2Start RPing. If you are on a good RP site, there should be absolutely no text talking! Use full sentences and good punctuation and grammar. Use quotation marks when your character is talking. Otherwise many people get annoyed and you are made to look silly.
Never post one-liners! This is usually just one sentence of what your character is doing. Posting dialogue is not an excuse for a one-liner. The people who you roleplay with may not like it at all. The occasional one-liner is fine (barely) but do not make it a habit to where everyone else has the brunt of the roleplay. You are there too, so make the attempt to write longer posts.Use description! Don't just say "Jane walked into the room and sat down on a chair" Where is Jane? What does the room look like? How did she walk in? How did she sit down? How was she feeling? What was she thinking as she walked in? Where had she just been? You need to think of all these questions whenever you RP. Instead, you could say something like, "Jane briskly walked into the waiting room at the doctors office, wrinkling her nose at the sickeningly strong smell of antiseptic. She glanced at the medical posters on the walls, and the magazines by the hard backed chairs lining the walls. She went, and quickly sat down in one of the uncomfortable plastic chairs, folding her ankles properly." Now do you see what you're aiming for?
Don't god mod: god-modding is when you control someone elses character. For example, if you said, "Jane briskly walked into the waiting room at the doctor's office, dragging Jim beside her. Both of them wrinkling their nose at the antiseptic smell. She glanced at the medical posters on the walls, and the magazines by the hard-backed chairs lining the walls. She went, and quickly sat down in one of the uncomfortable plastic chairs, folding her ankles properly. She watched Jim walk up to the pretty nurse at the front desk and talk to her." Here, you are not only controlling the character of Jane, but the the character of Jim. This makes it hard for others to RP, and should almost never be done.
Godmodding can also be:
Dodging everything that is thrown at you without reason. Ex: *dodges* or "My sheild is unbreakable; I'm immortal"
DO NOT pretend to have abilities that you have not trained into. There is a general Honor System that we'd like to follow, and hell, your characters are NINJA, it's understandable that they can dodge a few attacks. But don't destroy the experience by investing your own ego in the characters. If your beaten, accept defeat graciously and move on. "I'm not a good Role-player."Relax. This is a very weird/interesting/complicated thing to do at times and its understandable that there are pitfalls and moments where you won't understand something. Keep at it and don't lose the spirit of enjoyment RP is based on. Ask questions and keep moving, eventually, you'll get it right. TERMINOLOGYIC-In Character; you are role-playing as the character you've created OOC-Out Of Character; you are being YOURSELF, and your words are actions are NOT those of your character. IIC-Inactive In Character; if you began rp'ing in a thread but spent a certain amount of time inactive, you are capable of being 'skipped'. NPC-Non Playable Character; any character, human or otherwise, not controlled by anyone else playing the game. NPC's are played by there respective owners unless otherwise stated. PC-Playable Characters; who YOU are playing as. Firewalling-Seperating your OOC knowledge from your IC knowledge. YOU as a person may know you're going to be attacked from behind, but your character may have no real reason to. Everyone should practice firewalling. This is also a part of the Honor System.

CP, TP and Training CPChakra Pool, or CP, is the method on HVRP whereby you are able to utilize chakra to perform the various jutsu. This indicates the base amount of Chakra you have to go towards performing attacks, and is an important way to measure your remaining chakra. On HVRP, you may begin your character at ANY CHARACTER CLASS you choose, provided it falls within the guidelines of the specific bloodlimits, clans, or special abilities you'd like for your characters. At Character Creation, depending on which Class you begin at, you are able to know an amount of jutsu that accumulates to your overall chakra pool. In order to learn more techniques, you must learn them IC. E Rank Character Class- 250 CP D Rank Character Class- 750 CP C Rank Character Class- 1500 CP B Rank Character CLass- 3000 CP A Rank Character Class- 4500 CP S Rank Character Class- 6000 CP So for final clarification, you may begin your character with a chakra pool of either 250, 750, 1500, 3000, 4500, or 6000, and use that chakra pool to select the jutsu and techniques your character knows. E-Rank techniques are worth 25 Points D-Rank techniques are worth 50 Points C-Rank techniques are worth 100 Points B-Rank techniques are worth 150 Points A-Rank techniques are worth 200 Points S-Rank techniques are worth 300 Points TPTraining Points indicate IC training and do not add to your chakra pool until the amount gained is high enough to increase your character class. You acquire training points by opening up IC threads and describing your process for learning the technique. Training points are awarded by staff members and game masters, and are graded for length, creativity, originality, and vocabulary. Example: A "D" Rank ninja has a CP of 750. In order to learn an S rank technique, which would take 300 points, he opens a training thread. After 10 posts, he successfully completes training. He will now have 300 TP (Training Points), but his CP (Chakra Pool) will still be at 750. In battle, he will only have a chakra pool of 750 to spend, even though he'll know more techniques. His chakra pool won't change until his TP gets to 750. Then, his chakra pool will go up to 1500, and his TP will go back down to 0. "HOW DO I TRAIN?"Simple! All you have to do is open a thread, give it a title, and place [Training] in brackets. You may also indicate whether or not it is [Open], meaning others can join in the rp with you, or [Closed]/[Private], meaning you want to train by yourself, without interruption, or on an Invite-Only basis.

RANKING RANKSAll characters who start out as E Class, begin at the rank of Academy Student. All other characters, regardless of Character CLass, begin at the rank of Genin. You must learn ALL subsequent ranks IC, No Exceptions. Chunin, Jounin, Sannin, KageThe Chunin Exams will be announced every two to three months, once held, they are split up into three sections. 1. Written Exam RP You will roleplay taking the written exam, explain whether or not you will cheat, and the method you used. MAKE THIS A GOOD RP THREAD. Depending on your grade here, you can be disqualified or pushed through to the bonus round. This is basically a guided RP activity. The better the post, the better the grading, the higher your chances of moving on. 2. Race! RP You will make your way through a dangerous training zone with your team and interact with a NPC Squad, battling them, and continuing to the pre-determined finish line without dying in the process. Again, good RP skills are needed to pass this phase. 3. Final Battle RP You will be paired up randomly against the other Chunin Try outs. These matches CAN result in death, though usually exam proctors will stop this before it happens. You do not have to win the match, you simply have to display a high level of aptitude at battling, thinking ahead, and flowing with the battle. This is the make or break point for the Chunin Exams. Once a ninja has successfully completed the Chunin Exams, he is granted the next rank by the ninja of superior rank attending. In order to become a Jounin, you must consult your Kage to be given an individual mission created by them, and already be at Chunin level. In order to become a Kage, you must be voted in by your village. Elections are held either when five + people PM staff for a Kage Revote, or when a Kage vacates his position. The only other way to become a Kage is to (1) Take over a ninja village [good luck], or (2) have the title passed to you by the previous Kage.In order to qualify as Sannin and gain free roam of the world without being declared a "Missing-nin", you must be one of the top 3 Jounin in your village. There are only 3 Sannin allowed per village. You must be recommended by staff, and provide a link to your rp threads/battles upon request.A Missing-Nin is classified as any ninja who leaves their village without the consent and permission of their Kage. You will be taken down in the ANBU Bingo-book, and you become DE (Death Enabled) in ANY thread where you appear IC. This means that your character can literally be killed ANYWHERE that they appear.

BATTLE Battle is simple. User's take turns posting IC, revealing their RP writing skill and their ability to think quickly, creatively, and within the guidelines of the forum. The movement structure is also very simple. {NOTE: "Prep" refers to a period of performing handseals and molding chakra. During "prep" time, follow the restrictions of the jutsu to ensure that you'll be able to perform the move!} Movement(Generally Chakra Based attacks work as follows:) "E" Rank Character-Can perform one E rank attack per round (post) without prepping. "D" Rank techniques take 1 post of prep. "C" Rank techniques take 2 posts of prep. "D" Rank Character-Can perform one D rank attack per round (post) without prepping. "C" Rank techniques take 1 post of prep. "B" Rank techniques take 2 posts of prep. "C" Rank Character-Can perform two D rank attacks or one C rank attack per round (post) without prepping. "B" Rank techniques take 1 post of prep. "A" Rank techniques take 2 posts of prep. "B" Rank Character-Can perform three D rank attacks or two C rank attacks or one B rank attack per round (post). "A" Rank techniques take 1 post of prep. "S" Rank techniques take 2 posts of prep. "A" Rank Character-Can perform four D rank attacks or threeC rank attacks or two B rank attacks or one A rank attack per round. "S" Rank techniques take 1 post of prep. "S" Rank Character-Can perform five D rank attacks or four C rank attacks or three B Rank attacks or two A rank attacks or one S rank attack per round. User CANNOT perform two "S" Rank techniques in one post. These moves are called "Rank Attacks" and pertain to molding chakra. Using Taijutsu that does not require the molding of chakra does NOT take prep time and is NOT restricted by your rank, except for being able to LEARN specific techniques. Taijutsu attacks simply take up 1 movement. (This means that a C Rank Character can perform an A Rank Attack, and this will take up 1 movement) Outside of your Rank Attacks: PURE TAI AFFINITYAt E Rank you are allowed 9 extra movements (Moving, Jumping, Throwing Kunai, Kneeling, Running, etc.) At D you are allowed 10. At C you are allowed 11. At B you are allowed 12. At A you are allowed 13. At S you are allowed 14. NON-TAI AFFINITYAt E Rank you are allowed 3 extra movements (Moving, Jumping, Throwing Kunai, Kneeling, Running, etc.) At D you are allowed 4. At C you are allowed 5. At B you are allowed 6. At A you are allowed 7. At S you are allowed 8. MIXED TAI AFFINITYAt E Rank you are allowed 6 extra movements (Moving, Jumping, Throwing Kunai, Kneeling, Running, etc.) At D you are allowed 7. At C you are allowed 8. At B you are allowed 9. At A you are allowed 10. At S you are allowed 11. Remember, for each attack, there is a healthy amount of RP needed to explain exactly what it's doing and where it's going. Do not say "I performed 5 D rank attacks" and leave it there. That means you need 5 GOOD explanations of where each attack went, how long it took to perform, why you set up the attack this way, etc. Your CHAKRA POOL exists primarily for battle. At "D" Rank, with a chakra pool of 500, this means that after you have used up a number of attacks whose total chakra cost reaches 500, YOU ARE OUT OF CHAKRA. Attempting to use more chakra than this can result in permanent injury, and even death. The only exceptions are tailed beast hosts, who have an extra pool of chakra to pull from. Your CHAKRA CONTROL IS NOT a factor in battle. It simple means that you can learn more techniques. At "D" Rank, with a CP of 500 and a CC of 350, I CANNOT Use all 500 of my CP and then switch and try to use CC. Chakra Control is just for LEARNING jutsu. It means you have more attacks in your arsenal...you still can't use them ALL in every single battle. This is to keep the battles balanced and interesting. The only exception is tailed beast Hosts who have an extra pool of chakra to pull from.
